I'm always delighted to pick up a BirdCam photo of something I hadn't added to the picture archive. Last week we evidently had a visit from a young Song Sparrow. They are around, and I have heard them sing from time to time, and I recall seeing one at a feeder some time ago. From what I have gleaned from the literature Song Sparrows ought to be regular feeder birds, but at least at my feeder stations that is not the case. We're far enough east that we could see these Melospizeds all year, but my guess is that I have an unusual circumstance and "our" song sparrows are most likely going to be winter birds only. As usual, I will keep an eye on things and see if Junior comes back more often.
