One of this fall's big projects is to set up a third feeder station on the property. Homeowner association rules being what they are, I am restricted from going into the front yard. But the classic guidelines on siting a feeder tree are going to be a problem in what remaining real estate we have. For one, I don't have any good options that are ten feet away from a tree and which are equally far from other feeders, buildings, and so forth. I have only one choice only, and it is up against a neighbor's fence. But do I want to put up feeders here? What about seed hulls in this part of the yard? Can I make it work? There is much to think about and little time left.
