The classic stereotype of the LSD-head was some character exclaiming "Did you ever really look at your hands??" But this makes sense when we look at the commonest of birds. I obtained this photograph of a Mourning Dove (what more common bird is there than that?) over the weekend and found myself thinking "I don't think I have ever really looked at this bird before!" The tail feathers simply mesmerized me. Such a simple thing, but so interesting. I have been BirdCamming for almost two years now and I can still be enchanted by the smallest thing on the commonest of birds. What do you think: have you ever really looked at your birds?Monday, November 23, 2009
