The Pattern is Full

It's a typical winter storm day here in Cary: cold rain (~45 degrees) with falling thermometer, falling barometer, and that ominpresent threat of winter precip. Oh, and there are lots of birds -- mostly House Finches -- on the feeders. I just counted 16 House Finches battling for position on the various seed feeders. Heck, there are probably more down at the other station. Unreal. The combination of weather elements isn't friendly to them and they are working double overtime to keep their bodies warm. We have plenty of food so they will be just fine. I just need to check the tubes a little more often today. But did I end up attracting every finch on the street??
