Last winter we had frequent visits to the feeder station by a Hermit Thrush, and it looks like this elusive bird is back for another winter. I observed the Thrush just after noon making an effort at a suet basket. I don't know if the Thrush has been by earlier this season, but now that it is here I am certain I will see more visits especially if the bird is successful dislodging bits of food. My guess is that this was probably an early visit: the weather has been exceptionally chilly for this time of year and I am seeing plenty of birds including those who don't ordinarily visit the station. In any case we are delighted to see one of my favorites. Now...where are those Yellow Rumped Warblers???

You're very lucky! I just love this bird's song.
