Seemingly Down to This

As seems to be the rule in mid April, my feeder traffic has tanked. BirdCam literally detected no activity at a suet feeder that was all the rage in winter. And it is taking days to empty the tube feeders---and that is only due to these guys. All week, I have seen hardly any birds, but I nearly always see the squirrels. So what's going on? I've reasoned that now that more natural choices exist the birds are taking advantage of that---they've been on bagged seeds and suet cakes for months. They'll be back when raising youngsters, but for now it's seemingly All Squirrels All The Time. So do I rechristen the camera as SquirrelCam? Do I need to start loving the tree rats? It may be a tough next few weeks.
