Another Juvenile Photographed

A review of the weekend's BirdCam photography yielded this very curious image. Indisputably, we see two Carolina Wrens. But what is going on? Is there a scrap between them? That seems unlikely. The one above has an opened bill, and the other looks just a bit subservient. I think I am seeing a begging juvenile being served by a parent bird. And my bet is that the bird above is J.W. (Junior Wren.) It certainly is plausible at this time of year, and I have never seen a wren pair fight. And thus I have recorded our third "Junior" of the season. And we surely will have many chances to see "J.W." in action this summer: Carolina Wren family groups are very entertaining!
