In contrast to the feeders above it, my ground level bird bath in the southwest back corner isn't getting very much traffic. In today's photography, for example, I produced but 14 photos, only nine of which show birds. Of these, four show this character (Brown Thrasher) and the rest a mix of wrens, House Finches, and Catbirds. Not an impressive showing on a summer day. I've taken pains to site it in a decent location with minimal ambush issues, but no matter where it's been, the bath generally doesn't seem to generate much visitation. But it clearly is a delight for those who do visit, as the aforementioned Thrasher can attest. Well, I'll keep it running. Some day things might change.Saturday, August 7, 2010
