Six days into our new platform feeder adventure, I am observing:(a) A wide range of species has taken to this feeder, even to the relative neglect of the tubes. Cardinals, House Finches, Titmice, Chickadees, and Eastern Bluebirds have visited.
(b) Squirrels have been in as well, but photo evidence is inconclusive about how successful they've been. At least they have not been gorging.
(c) American Goldfinches, those finicky devils, have been first in and seem to be sticking around, but Lord only knows when they'll revert to form.
(d) Fighting has gone on between diners, but it looks more like "preferred place" disputes rather than "let me have a space" ones.
It is so far, a really good feeder, which is easy to load and clean and appeals to the birds. More will be learned...
