Winter Guests In Last Days

The signs of spring -- even summer -- are well along here in the Piedmont. Everything is in bloom, it seems, temperatures are moderating, mowers are running. I've even taken down the bird bath deicer for the season as freeze threat is surely past. But our winter guests, happily enough, are still around for a few more days. The Yellow Rumped Warblers are very active (shown) and I've seen the Hermit Thrush, Siskins and Juncos in the past few days. But it won't be long, maybe a day or two, before they're all on their way out. Who will be first? who last? we shall see!
