Not Very Happy

As the latest and last Eastern Bluebird hatchling gets ready to fledge, there are several birds who clearly have not been happy. They are the juveniles from the earlier brood who clearly resent the loss of parental attention. I see two of them hanging around the suet feeder, often looking forlornly at the nest box (and sometimes perching atop it) as the adults work to feed the occupant within. The juveniles are up to speed on feeding themselves, but you know they miss the handouts. It's funny in a pathetic sort of way, but all is well. These youngsters are hale and healthy and I'm sure they will do well. Time to grow up, kids!
