Revenge of the Small
Bastille Day came early. I decided to "free myself" from the grackles, and after they emptied the suet feeder in record time, I took action. This meant pulling into the same spot this special feeder that's only accessible from below. The small birds vindicated my faith in them: the Carolina Wrens and Downy Woodpeckers immediately grasped the approach and had a good day. The grackles did not. We'll let this go for some days, enough to discourage the big bullies. The small birds had their revenge!
