Little Guys Keep it Interesting

The fall is generally pretty quiet, with migrants out of the way, and with young dispersed, and with native foods in abundance.  Fortunately, the smallest regulars are always on hand to keep me amused and engaged.  Chief among these is the Tufted Titmouse which perhaps sees me as its nemesis.  I'm scolded by these characters every minute I'm in the yard.  But it's an absurd enough display that one can only appreciate the sound.  The titmice might be enraged, but they do have it pretty good around here save for the occasional Coopers Hawk which seems to have a taste for them.  But the 2012 crop of Titmice is strong and they approach winter in good shape.  I'm sure to enjoy their antics for some months to come.
