Juncos Hanging On

Snow is long gone.  Even the winter has faded into a memory.  Everything is becoming green and bright with spring sun.  But the "snow birds"---the Slate Colored Juncos---are still here.  Most of the winter species have moved on, or so it appears to me, but these animated little birds are yet in the scratch ground and under the shrubs.  The end should be near.  I can't recall seeing juncos quite this late.  It will be a sad thing to see them go, as I have no doubt said before.  But the summer must move in, and it is time for catbirds and hummingbirds.  I'll say goodbye, little buddies.  You have hung on, and hopefully fed well.  See you this coming autumn!
