Still Popular! Yes, Peanuts!

The continuing non-heat has meant many things here.  One of those is continued peanut service.  I put out the shelled peanuts in the cooler months.  Demand never seems to be high in summer.  And in fact, demand continues apace here in late April.  They're being snatched up by the usual suspects: chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, Downy Woodpeckers, and Red Bellied Woodpeckers.  I imagine some of the protein is finding its way to hatchlings.  But who knows?  the natural world is still a little skimpy on food stuffs so these peanuts are no doubt popular alternatives now.  Soon I'll want to take down that feeder and concentrate on the summer choices.  Will that be in May or June?
