Almost Time for Juncos

It is hard to believe we're almost a week away from November.  But that is a special month apart from Thanksgiving: it is the month I see the first juncos!  And my mind has wandered to the subject of those fun little gray birds quite a bit recently.  Soon the open spaces under the feeders will see a group of juncos.  And while they do signal the arrival of something like winter, they at least give us some cheer during the bleak times.  The countdown has begun: when will the first one show up?
