Birds of December: Eastern Bluebird

It may be odd to list a classic birds-we-think-of-for-spring in December, but Eastern Bluebirds are faithful fixtures of our deep winter.  Our bluebirds are very frequent visitors to the suet feeders at this time of year and remind us that it may be cold now, but good and warmer times will come.  And I am delighted to remind them that the food will be there if they stick around.  You always wonder in a suburban lot if bluebirds will desert you at any time!  I have seen bluebirds all day: it is a great Christmas Eve!
