Watching the Boxes

The backyard birds are already house hunting and I eagerly await the verdict on how ours appeal to these discriminating tenants.  For years most of the boxes go unclaimed and some of the repeat offenders have been retired.  Some, like the one shown, always get a taker (in this box's case, White Breasted Nuthatches virtually every year).  The bluebirds are very exasperating, often rejecting my perfectly good purpose-built box on a post.  And the wrens! always picky.  I am really hoping I can get better use this coming season and that some of these boxes finally become the homes they deserve to be.  We shall see what comes later this month!
