The fledglings keep on coming! In the past two days I've spotted the first young Brown Thrasher of the season, and, as hoped, the first Eastern Bluebird. I know the rascal was not hatched in my nice new bluebird box. Watching the birds' activity I suspect it's across the buffer in another lot. Such is life. What's more important is another new bluebird is on the road to success. For now he/she is still begging (and getting results) mostly at the suet feeder -- which explains its rapid depletion! -- so much risk remains ahead. The fledgling species count is now definitely six. Who's next?
