More Going Right?
When one sees a data report showing that feeders, especially those containing sunflower seed, are draining less quickly than in the same time the year before, concern might cloud his thinking. In other words, "Where are the Birds?!?". But then one reflects on decent bird traffic (especially with suet feeders), and the nature of the birds eating sunflower seed, and one may start to smile. After all, at this time last year the sunflower seed was largely being scarfed down by House Finches, goldfinches, and mm, "fuzzy birds." I don't mind fewer House Finches and goldfinches. And squirrels?!? Phooey. This is turning out to be a better year! I have saved more than one 50# sack of sunflower seed this year. At this rate I might save more than $100 just in sunflower seed alone. And I am getting just as many quality bird sightings. I'll take it!
