Evidence is accumulating that a pair of Tufted Titmice are nesting very close to the property. Unfortunately for me, and for the prospect of nest photography, the pair appear to be working on the other side of the street! I've been watching this pair as they visit the feeder station. They always come in from, and depart to, the north. Tracking them back, I see them beelining for the woody strip behind the houses on the other side. My own hopes for a Titmouse nest box use---despite offering seven choices---is now dashed. Perhaps they found a (superior) natural cavity to nest in. The good news is, of course, that they view Cary BirdCam as the cafeteria of choice and with any luck will bring their young ones by when it is time. We'll be sure to welcome the extended family and enjoy the fun!
