Sometimes I obtain photographs from my BirdCam that are irresistably "human" in composition or character, and it is a natural temptation to look at them with all-too-human eyes. For example, here is a photo taken yesterday of a Carolina Chickadee at a hummingbird feeder, simply perching, motives unclear. But who can set aside the image of a patron hanging out at a bar, waiting for a drink order, and listening to some lounge act? I suppose those of us who maintain feeders start to see the visitors as part of the family, with personalities and quirks. And I will continue to enjoy these hilarious photos. I hope I get more of them!Thursday, July 23, 2009
