Today's photo is a first for Cary BirdCam. I had no idea that hummingbird nectar would be of any interest to anyone save the hummingbirds. This Carolina Wren is a clear exception. Perhaps the wren watched a hummingbird at this dish feeder and tried its hand at licking up the sweet liquid. But this gets me thinking: there are probably few birds that can make a go of the most popular nectar feeders. It is entirely possible some other species would enjoy a sugary drink treat. It's time to do some research! And of course, we'll be watching for repeat behavior by the wrens!
