While away on vacation I set our BirdCam to work monitoring activity at the ground level bird bath. While overall traffic was decidedly down from previous measurements -- an average of less than ten photographs a day -- the overall creature content was interesting. For the first time I am aware a BirdCam recorded a snake (specifically a Black Rat Snake) at the Bath. I doubt this snake was seeking a passerine meal. Odds are it needed a little water and then passed on by. Over time I have seen a decent variety of non avians at this bath, including squirrels, cats, and rabbits. I can do without the cat, but the rest, including this snake, are more than welcome to enjoy cool refreshment.
