Simple Bird Watching Delights on the Road

Thanks, everyone, for bearing with me as I shut the blog down for a week to take some time off. Unfortunately this was not a bird watching excursion and I was in the thick of America's urban northeast almost all the way (hint: I-95) but we did enjoy some bird delights when the opportunity presented. These Ring Billed Gulls (and two dozen others) amused me during a visit to the charming Chesapeake Bay community of Havre de Grace: one pier post, one gull. We also relished the simple delights of bird activity in the Bishop's Garden at Washington National Cathedral, waterfowl of Chesapeake Bay, and especially in one New York state back yard where an Eastern Kingbird picked insects off the surface of a swimming pool. Many delightful moments were had, but it is good to be home.
