The Livin' Is Easy

I have to laugh. There was a time, when I first owned a Wingscapes BirdCam, that getting a photograph of a Mourning Dove was a challenge. I had to play all kinds of bait games to get them in view. Now, they're at my feeders frequently, every day. Surely they are singing that well known Gershwin standard: It's summertime and the livin' is easy. I offer an irresistable food (safflower seed) in unending profusion, and it's provided in an easy-to-use platform feeder. And if that isn't enough, enough seed spills to the ground that the Doves can get their fill down there. They're well fed, probably as safe as can be, and I suspect more than a little lazy. But I have my pick of some very good Dove photographs, and they're pleasant feeder visitors. So hush little baby, don't you cry.
