Dumb and Dumber

All summer I have had problems with an aging dripper-and-mister system for the pedestal bird bath. It has blown apart, or had leaks five times since April at the cost of hundreds of gallons of water. To some extent having a relatively cheap, unmonitored delivery system for water is dumb. But I persisted in trying to repair the foolish thing. And my price tag Tuesday was another 400 gallons merrily soaking my lawn before I figured out that it was stricken. That was dumber. I don't want to go to a "dumbest" rating and so the dripper was taken down and hauled to the garage. But you know, I think I like the "water wiggler" better. So lesson learned, the hard way.
