September has become a decidedly slow month for me at least in terms of BirdCam photography. The numbers are daunting: through today I have captured all of 239 pictures since 9/1, or something like 11 per day. And the camera was trained on some of my most productive feeders (suet and platform.) Even the ground level bird bath yielded four photos in two days. Ugh. Happily, I am not as bad off as last year when I averaged 5 per day for the first half of September. I know it's normal and natural, but I dearly miss all of the action of the brisker months of the year. We shall buck up and make do. It is still a long time until the journal tells me the action will be lively again.Saturday, September 12, 2009
