Chickadees on the Brain

I am reminded that I have not written much about these characters: Carolina Chickadees. "Reminded," in this case, means that as I was working in the yard, one or more of these birds moved along with me, scolding and fussing. In fact, one was especially vigorous, making a racket that should have been audible throughout the neighborhood. So it was Chickadees on the brain for the rest of the day. And it came to me that I have neglected these irascible, yet lovable Paradids. I've taken for granted their delightful curiosity--they often are the first to test out new feeders; and their marvelous repertoire of calls and songs and scolding notes. So, as I close the day, I'll be chuckling over today's "verbal abuse", and looking forward to seeing what they'll be up to tomorrow.
