Exterminator Service

It is some work to keep up with a wren. These birds are hyperactive and patrol surprisingly large areas. We are particularly fascinated by their work "around the house." The Carolina Wrens are constantly on the go on the deck in search of insects and spiders. They will get into anything and everything as they perform this exterminator service: I have seen them get into a folded umbrella, the hem of the awning, underneath the gas grill, and more. I don't think they miss a spot, and I never see much in the way of insects and spiders out there. So we keep the wrens well fed. They may be small brown birds, but they pack a lot of action for the observer.
