A Squirrel is a squirrel, mein herr.

I think there's a song that goes "A tiger is a tiger, not a lamb, mein herr." I was repeating those very words when I reviewed Sunday's BirdCam photography and found this joker on one of the sunflower seed feeders. For two months the tree rats seemed to be honoring a deal whereby I kept a platform stocked for them and they left all else alone. But scirus carolinensis cannot resist his inherent nature and as I have expected is back to his old tricks. What is funny is that the dim bulb squirrel was lavishing its attentions on a feeder that the tree rats have repeatedly failed to penetrate. Well, this gave me more cause to move up my plans for a third feeder tree this winter.
