Excitement was high last night at the home of Cary BirdCam when we received our 6PM package care of UPS. We are now equipped with the very latest Wingscapes technology! BirdCam 2.0 --the new top-of-the-line model promises 8 megapixel images but also a flash for nighttime imagry. I was very interested to see how the console was redesigned to accomodate the flash. Wingscape's engineers did a very fine job of maintaining the BirdCam 1.0 look-and-feel. The principal re-engineering involved moving the focus knob on top of the lens (a logical idea.) There are minor changes to the color palette of the housing, and there was no obvious change in weight. This BirdCam 2.0 will likely get First Light by Thursday and will become the primary camera here. I plan to repurpose my BirdCam 1.0 to extended view duty, first at the "Rufous Hummingbird" feeder and by spring to next box sentry. I can't wait to see the improvement in my photographs!

David, we can't wait to hear what you think!! Hopefully you get as much out of the 2.0 as you have the original.
