Tough Choices

Everyone around here has had some tough choices to make. My beloved had a difficult decision about a car (old one donated, new one finally selected), I had to get some terribly expensive -- but absolutely necessary -- work done on the exterior of the house. And my bird friends, as a result of the latter, are having to decide whether to use our feeders. With all of the commotion going on less than thirty feet from both sets of feeders, the birds have mostly decided to stay clear. I have had to put hardly any sunflower seed out, and the BirdCam picked up only a handful of photos (the best one is shown.) As far as I can tell none of the workers are harrassing the birds, but songbirds are understandably nervous about everything and they have enough natural food options to get by until the dust, quite literally, settles. But if the birds choose otherwise, there's plenty of food available.
