More Insights on BirdCam 2.0 Capabilities

I am still a little frustrated by environmental conditions as I test my new BirdCam 2.0, but it is clear I am getting enhanced performance from the product. One thing I have noticed is that the photometer is allowing pictures in feebler light than I am used to, but the evidence is not conclusive. More importantly, the 8 megapixel frontier is allowing more captured detail in my bird images. Unfortunately I don't have the best possible source material due to poor lighting (skies were overcast all day) but got one encouraging result yesterday. The photograph above of a male House Finch was taken at a distance of 32 inches. Cropped to about 8% of the original image, there is an impressive amount of detail. I am looking forward to continuing this testing once the weather improves (today the clouds and rain let up!)
