Peanut Butter Has Been Discovered

It is a bird feeder's rule of thumb that any new (or resurrected) feeder will need at least a few days to be discovered by birds. And the first wave of users are likely to be Chickadees and Titmice---well known inquisitive types. And indeed, yesterday's photography demonstrated this: lots of shots of Chickadees, some of Titmice, a couple of squirrels, and none else. The feeder has only been up for about a week now, so we are on schedule to generate some serious winter traffic. Peanut butter has proven to be an irresistable foodstuff for a wide spectrum of back yard birds including seed eaters like the Chickadees and Nuthatches but also the insect lovers like the Bluebirds and Yellow Rumped Warblers. And for winter 2009-10 it has been discovered! I am looking forward to the growing list of customers.

Have you attracted any humans yet? If there wasn't a webcam, I'd be all over that peanut butter! : )
