During winter we serve our avian buddies two peanut products (pieces and butter.) Historically both became quite popular in the cold months and it looks like this winter will see more of the same. Already I am observing Eastern Bluebirds, Carolina Wrens, White Breasted Nuthatches, and Carolina Chickadees visiting the peanut piece feeder. And that feeder has only been up a couple of weeks! I'm especially delighted to get the Bluebirds who can be so finicky about feeder fare. I'm also glad this feeder is getting traction because there is a 25 pound back of peanut pieces in the granary and I would be mighty annoyed if all that has to be thrown to the squirrels. I've turned the BirdCam to take a look at the peanut butter feeder and we'll soon get a good idea of who's been there lately.
