It did not take long after installing the peanut butter feeder for at least one misbehaving squirrel to use it as a personal feeding station. The tree rat learned how to lean over the edge of a weather dome and lick up the product. While I am being indulgent this season with the rats, I have my limits, and peanut butter is not going up for their use. I wondered if adding a second dome would create a meaningful obstacle. They simply aren't that agile, are they? So the test is to see if the malefactor can find a way to reach over a second dome and get in a bite. I don't see any obvious problems with my plan, but the squirrels are notoriously clever and it remains a possibility that I will be disappointed before too long. Thus, squirrels, try this! I hope to post a positive report soon.
