Poetry of Motion

Every now and then I am fortunate enough to capture, with the BirdCam, some beautiful photographs of birds in motion. Most motion shots are bizarre blurs at best. Here's a very attractive picture of a Northern Mockingbird I picked up Saturday. The bird was in profile and came into view exactly perpendicular to the camera. If you have had a BirdCam long enough, you should begin to realize what a real treat motion photography is and, hopefully, how to get the best results. One trick, of course, is to set an angle like this one where the birds can be seen to best advantage. A high sensitivity setting helps, as does a multiples shots-per-incident selection, so that amidst one or two or three crummy shots one jewel may arise. Happy hunting!
