Wiggling that Water

We experimented with the "Water Wiggler" product at the bird baths last year and obtained very good results. The device is powered by two D batteries (for a considerable period of time!) and stands up very well unless severely jostled by certain mammal life. And it does seem to excite the water enough to get birds' attention. At the very least it won't waste hundreds of gallons of water as what happened when my crummy dripper system malfunctioned multiple times last year. Hence these gadgets have been put to work in the two bird baths again for 2010 and I don't need to worry about the municipal water bill. We'll see who shows up! sounds like a good BirdCam observation project for the coming week...
