Fun With Fish Crows

There's not a whole lot outside that's fun these days (we're on day #12 of a nasty heat wave) but a sojourn bajo el sol ardiente has its moments. And today I enjoyed an amusing repartee between two Fish Crows high over the house. The birds noisily called back and forth, occasionally sailing at each other. Crow-at-left had some object in its bill that it didn't appear to want to share. They soon moved the circus across the street, and then into another part of the neighborhood. Was this harmless play? was there a food item in dispute? It was all like a foreign film without subtitles to me, but I enjoyed this the theatre of the thing. Even in the heat of a nasty summer, watching the birds has its rewards.
