Punk Cardinal Managing Just Fine

I was so struck by the image of a young Cardinal with a punk 'do that I only think of the youngster as a kind of bird punker. But unlike the human versions, Punk Cardinal is devoted strictly to eating its way to adulthood rather than trash my feeders or engaging in any other hooliganism. Hence I see Punk Cardinal doing very well for itself at the feeders, no longer begging for handouts but working through the menu. It's found those suet nuggets I talked about yesterday and also knows where seedstuffs can be found. It won't be long before Punk Cardinal must tough out the next part of its journey: landing a territory. But that's months away. For now, we can enjoy its discoveries and constructive antics.
