Some time ago I added hot pepper suet nuggets to the primary feeder "menu" and am still delighted with the results. This product is appealing both to birds that might not otherwise use suet baskets (e.g. Cardinals) and also to those who can't wait for the woodpeckers to clear off (e.g. Catbirds, as shown.) And, by dint of the hot pepper formula, squirrels won't touch the stuff. The product I buy is manufactured by C & S Products and their 27-oz bag, priced between $6 and $7 usually lasts me for as many as six weeks in the springtime alone. I'd definitely consider adding it as an additional attraction at platform feeders. I hope you get the same outstanding results I do!Friday, June 11, 2010
