Yes, Confounded Again

As is typical in the land of Cary BirdCam, once I make a claim based on behavior I have observed, it seems the birds gang up to prove me dead wrong. A few days ago I advised that BirdCam evidence, even in a run of hot days, revealed minimal ground level bird bath traffic. On August 6 I had zero photos and the next day, a mere 14. Seemed representative and conclusive. Only the birds changed their behavior. Four days ago that count soared to 73, and on Tuesday we were up to 131, and in those days I spotted as many as nine different species. I have no explanation for the change in activity. We leave it as we always do. "Birds is birds." We enjoy them and just maybe, someday, we'll understand them.
