And we have a Grosbeak! The bird I startled Sunday morning has extended her stay at my well-stocked cafe'. I found her at this sunflower seed feeder on and off all day, no doubt resting and refueling before the last leg of her autumnal journey to the tropics. Not since spring '07 have I had the pleasure of entertaining a Rose Breasted Grosbeak. I have not spotted another so presumably she's making the trip solo. That was the case three years ago when a lone male stopped by. He stayed for about three days. If this pattern holds up our Grosbeak will be gone tomorrow. I have thoroughly enjoyed her visit. If I don't see you agai, have a successful voyage to whatever awaits you.

The Grosbeak Is Here!
