As September sputters to a close (...hopefully not a hot close despite 95 degrees today!) we continue to see plenty of Cardinals around the property. As readers recall we had some amazing nest success for these birds. I believe there were three broods this year and several healthy juveniles. Eventually the children will be chased away as territories form, but that's a long ways away and as long as the food is in good supply the family group ought to hold together. This will in turn lead to a wonderful viewing experience for us during the winter. Lots of red and orange against a drab backdrop. The show will begin soon!
