Pine Warblers On My Mind

So sorry to be offline yesterday... we had computer related "issues" this weekend and I was off my game. That said, I close that weekend with something much pleasanter than bits and bytes, and that would be Pine Warblers. For whatever reason they seemed livelier than usual. As I labored over my lawn (reseeding, rebuilding, etc.) I was serenaded often by the distinctive metallic trill of Pine Warblers. I can't imagine they were really defending territories. Maybe just crowing at the warm weather, plentiful food, and the joy of just being there. Or maybe not. I for certain had those notions. But birds are inscrutable. I only hope to occasionally tune in to the same frequency. Sing on, PW's, sing on. You're making these soft October days all the pleasanter.
