I parked a pedestal bird bath where it could be conveniently observed from our kitchen. That has afforded many cumulative hours of enjoyment as various birds come by either for a drink, or a bath, or seemingly to rest for a little while. This female Northern Cardinal was taking in a few sips of water when I snapped this photo. I wonder if they are drawn at all by the action of the "Water Wiggler" device. Experts say it makes enough sound to attract birds. Well, possibly. To be honest they found it just fine when the water was still. But the Wiggler makes for a more interesting photo. Soon I will be pulling out the deicer so that this water supply will be available all winter. Although October usually brings our first freeze, there are no signs of that yet (our extraordinary heat wave continues...89 today) And 'til that happens, I and the birds enjoy the Wiggler.
