After a couple of weeks' of low activity, birds began to show themselves--and just in time for holiday viewing! Evidently the lower temperatures and drizzle did wonders to shake hungry birds loose. We saw, in addition to the regulars, the Brown Headed Nuthatches, Pine Warblers, and best of all---Eastern Bluebirds. A pair worked the suet basket pretty hard all day, providing delightful viewing from the confines of the sunroom. The forecast suggests more less-than-divine days here so perhaps we'll see more of these birds and their friends. Maybe at last real winter viewing is underway. That's much for which to give thanks!
