I have been blessed not only only with a decent mix of so-called "desirable" species but also little occurrence of the usually undesired ones. I have never had a Starling raid here, and my contacts with Common Grackles (shown in today's photography) are few and far between. Heck, I am even inclined to call Grackles a "neutral" issue like, say, House Finches. I never see more than one Grackle at once and said bird doesn't seem particularly greedy. This has gone on for years. And look, this particular bird seemed content with the stuff raining down from the feeders above! This type of bird visitation is just plain fine with me. We'll cross our fingers the "undesirable" activity stays right where it is.
