It has been a long time, but at last we are seeing American Robins again. This BirdCam photo, poor as it is, provides enough crucial detail to prove they're back. Robins are a species that I took for granted no matter the season. But starting mid August, there wasn't a one here, even away from the feeders. I didn't see them in the yard, or even in the neighborhood. Now, they are migratory and it is just possible the "usual" fall-and-winter Robins didn't quite arrive here, at least until this one came by. One of those constant mysteries about bird behavior. I'm expecting many more sightings in the months ahead. And good thing, too. They're fun to watch anywhere they work.
